Visitor program?
The Healthy Start Home
Visit Program is a free service available to any pregnant woman and family
with a newborn baby living in Marshall County.
The primary goal of the Healthy Start Home Visit Program is to
provide health resources, education, outreach, and family support to
ensure healthy mothers and newborns. The hospital that the baby
is delivered at will contact the Health Department to make a
referral for this service, if the mother consents.
How does the Healthy Start Home
Visitor program help after the baby is born?
After the baby is born a Registered Nurse will schedule a
home visit at the families convenience soon after the birth.
During this initial visit with the baby the nurse will weigh the
baby and will address concerns about
